西安市文物普查工作者日前在周至县太白山区发现了一座目前保存规模最大、最为完好的道观——玉皇池凌霄殿。它的发现对研究当地清代直到民国时期的道教传播、发展有重要作用。
玉皇池凌霄殿位于太白山区玉皇池西南，面积约400平方米，原有前殿、中殿、后殿及偏殿，现仅存中殿及其南偏殿，年代为清代。建筑整体坐西北朝东南，中殿面阔三间，进深九架，分前后厅;屋顶两面坡式，上铺铁瓦。墙体多为木结构，局部为石块垒砌。中殿前后厅、偏殿后部均有造像台，上置泥塑观音及文官神像。庙内现存遗物有木匾、铁罄、铁钟等共7件。铁罄2件，其中一件制作简单大方，可见“康熙廿五年/三月吉日造”年款;另一件口沿下铸有一圈梅花，腹部有八卦图案，腹部铸有民国三十五年重修太白山三清池的原因及经过。大门上方有光绪丁丑年李佩麟所书“凌霄殿”牌匾一块。这一发现对于研究山区寺庙建筑风格、建筑技术等提供了非常丰富的实物资料。
